Hi everybody, sorry for the brake in blogs but with tacking on the business time to blog has been a bit thin on the ground.
We have now started a new blog on WordPress that is nicely tied into our new web site, so just log in to www.thelaindeli.co.uk and have a look at the news page. Please feel free to contribute articles and and if we publish it you will get yourself a free sandwich.
Thanks from all at The Laine Deli.

A new face at The Laine Deli
It was two years ago when Natasha arrived at The Laine Deli, producing cooked breakfasts, home-made cakes, luxury lunches and afternoon teas for North Laine residents, workers and visitors.
To everyone who called in for a coffee, commissioned a cake, bought a sandwich or simply smiled and said 'hello', thank you for all your support.
It's now time to hand the business over to new management. We've had great fun... and we're sure our successor will enjoy life at the deli, too.

Spring has sprung!
It's not often that the first day of Spring coincides with sunshine and warmer temperatures... but that's what happened in Brighton this week. We even saw someone in their swimming costume on the beach yesterday!
So cast off your winter coat, put on your flip-flops, order a fruit smoothie and sit yourself down on our sunny patio!

Brighton Festival 2011
It's a sunny day in Brighton... which has reminded us that the 2011 Brighton Festival isn't far away. Tickets are already on sale and a Guest Director – Burmese campaigner Aung San Suu Kyi – has been appointed.
As always, there’ll be a mix of indoor and outdoor activities throughout May, from circus skills to choral music.
And there’ll also be the Artists Open Houses in over 250 venues during the four weekends of the month.

Share your heart with your Valentine
Valentine's Day is just around the corner - Monday, in case you weren't sure! - which means the shops are full of flowers and chocolates. But if you've had enough of all the usual romantic clichés, we've been busy in the kitchen creating our own twist on a teatime favourite.
Introducing... the jammie heart.
After all, nothing says "I love you" like a hearty snack!

Red chilli jam
As we mentioned a few days ago, we've been busy with our preserving pan. One of our favourite home-made recipes is Red Chilli Jam. But what can you do with it?
Good question. After all, it's not the kind of jam you'd expect in a traditional jam sandwich! However, if there was a sausage or a piece of bacon in that sandwich, our chilli jam would go very nicely.
It's also great with cheese, with cold meats... and with pretty much any other savoury food you fancy. Fish fingers with chilli jam. Quiche with chilli jam. Cheese on toast with chilli jam. Trust us, they all work very well!
